Centre for Cross Border Studies
Armagh, United Kingdom
The Centre for Cross Border Studies, based in Armagh and Dublin, researches and develops cooperation across the Irish border in a wide range of practical areas, notably education, health, the economy, ICT and citizens’ information, and works with similar cross-border regional research bodies in other parts of Europe. The Centre works to be a catalyst for empowering citizens for cross-border cooperation, drawing on 13 years of experience of bringing together the relevant actors across sectors and jurisdictional boundaries both on the island of Ireland and increasingly, elsewhere in Europe. In Ireland, a major focus of our work is to support the North South Ministerial Council and North/South implementation Bodies, government departments and local authorities, higher education institutions, business and the community and voluntary sector in their engagement with practical cross-border cooperation.
